1) Getting a qualification is easy
In all honesty, getting a qualification in Aged Care is as simple as going through a 6-month course. This will include placement experience – often3 weeks (or 120hrs). The degree you’d want to complete could be Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or Ageing Support.

Not only would you get the amazing opportunity to care for those of different cultures and backgrounds, you’d also be rewarded with fascinating stories the residents would be more than happy to share. Simply put, this is a great way of building meaningful connections.

In such a large industry there is constant opportunity for career growth. You may start your career as a Personal Care Assistant/Aide (PCA) and progress further. Here are just some roles you can work towards:
